History of Taekwondo

Taekwondo is a Korean martial art which focuses on kicking techniques and self-defense. The name Taekwondo is derived from the Korean word "Tae" meaning foot, "Kwon" meaning fist and "Do" meaning way of. So, literally Taekwondo means "the way of the foot and fist". The name Taekwondo has only been used since 1955 although the arts' roots began 2,300 years ago in Korea.

GSTA Meeting
Date: TDB

The meeting originally scheduled for Saturday, February 26th will be rescheduled. We will discuss the future of the GSTA with the changes in the USA Taekwondo organization. All schools are welcome! The date will be forthcoming.
